This workshop is offered by Tower ArtWorks and is designed to help the student get started right. It includes information on oil paints, brushes,canvas and boards, how to use gesso, mediums and much more. The participant will have a hands-on opportunity to try the various materials used in oil painting as well as work on a simple project. The workshops are very personal and informal which allows each student to experiment and ask questions while receiving individual attention. Start right and $ave by using the correct products and supplies from the beginning.

 Tower ArtWorks Presents Michael Gerry Workshops

These workshops are offered to students from beginning (with some experience painting) to advanced. Michael Gerry is a nationally recognized oil painter whose work appears in galleries all over the country. Various workshops are scheduled monthly for 2007 including portraits, landscapes and flowers. In addition, there are workshops scheduled for understanding color and taking photographs appropriate for painting. The class size is limited to 5/6 students and are very informal and personal.

This class will introduce the beginning painter to the materials and equipment used in oil painting as well as basic oil painting techniques. The student will complete at least three oil paintings over the 8 week period and become familiar with terms, materials and techniques. This class will also include some basic art history giving the student a well-rounded start!
